Did you know that Linn Grove collects pull tabs (aka pop tabs) to donate to Ronald McDonald House Charities?

Collecting the pull tabs from cans is an easy and fun way to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois.

The pull tabs collected at the Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City are shipped to a recycling center for processing.  RMHC of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois receives the money from the recycling center based on how many pounds of pull tabs get delivered.

Annually the pull-tab collection program generates over $14,000 to support services for the families and children that RMHC of Eastern Iowa & Western Illinois serves. Every pull-tab saved helps!

The idea for a Ronald McDonald House began in Philadelphia in 1973, when Fred Hill, a member of the Philadelphia Eagles football team, learned that his three year old daughter, Kim, had leukemia. The Eagles organized fundraising efforts to assist Kim's, as well as other children's, fight against leukemia. During the course of these efforts, the idea of a 'home-away-from-home' where out-of-town families could stay during their child's hospital treatment was born.

Save those tabs and put them in the collection bin, located in the office. Remember all tabs count, tabs from pop cans, soup cans, fruit cans, energy drink cans and so many more.

“ Staying at the house was a blessing for us as it gave us a home away from home filled with a caring staff and volunteers. Quinn enjoyed the meals brought by the volunteers, the playroom, the library, the special holiday events, and walks in the neighborhood around the House. Quinn also loved to visit with the staff and volunteers and always made sure they didn’t forget he was a Cyclone. At a time in our life filled with uncertainty of the future, our stay at Ronald McDonald House of Iowa City allowed us to focus our attention on Quinn. Whenever we visit RMH of Iowa City, it’s like we are coming home, as all of our wonderful memories from our stay at RMH return. The Ronald McDonald House is truly a home filled with love. - THE BOYLSTON FAMILY Eddie, Terri, Orion & Payton “
